I am Nature

Updated: Oct 26, 2023

Nature's World is a unique place. Now closed to the public, it was once a botanical centre on the outskirts of Middlesbrough in the north-east of England. It was the lungs of this post-industrial town with more than its fair share of problems.

It is still there, though it weaves its magic into the hearts of much fewer people than in its heyday. A much needed school for children with special needs has been built on one third of the original site, a busy environmental group manages another third and the remaining space is tended by Friends of Nature's World, of which I am a member. We continue to hope that one day Nature's World will re-open to the public.
